OUR STORY

What organization is the Mongolian Women's Federation that celebrates its 95th anniversary in 2019?
What story did our great-grandmothers, grandmothers and mothers write over the years? What role did the MONGOLIAN WOMEN'S FEDERATION play in the history of our country?
It is worth remembering the above...
After declaration its independence from the Manchu-led Qing dynasty, after the victory of the People's Revolution in the early 1920s the most Mongolian women were far from enlightenment, except religious ideology. Although there were few women who participated in public gatherings and rallies, who were educated, the Mongolian aristocracy gave their children home education, taught foreign languages, sent children abroad to study, kept a genealogy book on old Mongolian writing, respected books and scriptures, wrapping them in silk.
After the victory of the People’s Revolution in 1924, the Mongolian People’s Republic was formed, and the first Constitution was proclaimed, which stated that women have equal rights with men to participate in public activities, to have the right to vote and to be elected. Thus, the issue of women was raised at the national level. At that time, women made up 49.1% of the population of Mongolia. In connection with the demand to train women in writing, to promote their participation in public affairs, to enlighten society, to conduct a cultural revolution, to expand production, to take care of children in 1924 a new organization was established under the name "Women's Development Division", which became the basis for establishing the first Asian Women's Organization.
In 1924-2019, during 95 years the Mongolian women's organization was a strong structure that contributed to the development of the country, which conveyed its voice to women's organizations not only in Asia, but also in the world, carried out activities on a par with the international organizations, shared experience on international arena, which is evidenced by the history.
During the transition to a market economy, following the social transition, the name, activity and responsibilities of this organization underwent minor changes. But our organization, which is the only organization at the national level that unites half of the country's population, has not closed, has not suspended its activities.
Congratulations to all former leaders of the Mongolian Women's Federation, senior and honorary employees, organizers of the Global women's summit who solved together world issues, all women of the world, all mothers of Mongolia on the 95th anniversary of the Mongolian Women's Federation!
We present you a brief overview of the achievements of the Mongolian Women's Federation over the past years, during which our organization has played a significant role in the development of the country, the lives of women, their enlightenment and education.
